About Katoomba

Hi Guys,

Only if you really think about Hunter Valley?! We have more detailed information about Blue Mountains

There’s just a magic in this World Heritage National Park that gets into your blood. Perhaps it’s the eucalyptus trees throwing a blue haze across the ridges, or the sandstone walls lighting up at dusk while the cockatoos chatter their evening news. Whatever the reason, whenever I escape the city and head west, I remember exactly why it’s one of the most breathtaking places in Australia.

I’ve spent years guiding groups across this area — from the iconic Three Sisters at Echo Point to Jenolan Caves and the Megalong Valley — and take it from someone who knows, the Blue Mountains are more than a day trip. They’re a natural escape from the city, a majestic landscape of towering cliffs, cascading falls and eucalyptus aroma.

Just 90 minutes from Circular Quay via the Great Western Highway, the Blue Mountains is part of the Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage Area, a protected area of over a million hectares that reaches deep into Wollemi. It’s a patchwork of steep gorges, rainforests and eucalypt forests home to over 400 species of Australian animals, including curious wallabies, shy dingoes and the famous lyrebird.
